The offering today is………
Honeymoon Island is an original oil painting, 12 x 24 on canvas
While
walking along this remote path following the waters’ edge, the view of
the calm waters and the rustling of the golden sea oats reflects an
October morning on the Gulf of Mexico. Honeymoon Island is a small
stretch of land favored by many for its natural setting and family-
friendly park. Using shades of green and brown to achieve the base of
the oats, I dabbled the tops in yellow and gold to show the golden sea
oats all standing erect in the morning sun. The greys, purples, browns
and greens in the sand show the varied depths and reflections that the
outgoing tide left behind. The atmosphere has not yet allowed clouds to
form and only little wisps of cotton stretched above in the sky suggests
the day just beginning.
Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks.
